Our Story
MoTSO DeSIGNED began not in a studio, but in a moment of frustration. I, Kgomotso, was searching for art for my first apartment and found nothing that reflected both my modern taste and my African heritage. What I saw was either generic, mass-produced prints or traditional art that felt out of place in a contemporary home.
I knew there had to be others like me... homeowners and professionals yearning for a way to express their identity. And so, MoTSO DeSIGNED was born: to fill that void with bold, sophisticated, and soulful designs.
What started as a personal search for cultural representation in design has grown into a full interiors and décor studio. Today, we collaborate with artisans, property developers, hospitality clients, and homeowners to bring Afro-Modern design into homes, offices, and spaces across South Africa and beyond.

I am Kgomotso Malope, a former biomedical technologist turned interior designer and cultural storyteller. My journey has been about merging the analytical with the artistic, bringing precision and passion together in every design. Through MoTSO DeSIGNED, I curate spaces and products that reflect who we are as Africans — modern, global, rooted, and bold.
